With the winter season fast approaching, the cold and dry weather is sure to leave your skin in dire need of hydrating. Instead of quenching your thirst with a drink or smoothie recipe, this month for 'Healthy Hydrating' we have compiled three simple face/skin mask recipes that are sure to help your skin feel rejuvenated no matter how far the temperature drops.
Avocado to the rescue:
- 1/2 of a ripe avocado
- 1 tsp of plain yogurt
- 1 tsp of honey
You can leave this delicious and all natural mask on your face for 10 - 15 minutes for the best moisturizing results. This is the perfect mask for when you're feeling stressed after a long day out in the cold.
Honey, I'm hydrated:
- 2 tbs of raw oats
- 1 tsp of honey
- 1/2 of ripe banana
While this mask mostly reduces redness in the face, it also hydrates at the same time for a doubly effective treatment. This mask is perfect for those winter blustery days where your face is left feel chapped and wind-burnt. Leave on the face for 10 - 15 minutes for optimal results. The best part? You can probably throw this face mask together from ingredients you already have in your fridge!
Feelin' fresh as a lemon:
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- 1/4 cup of olive oil (or sweet almond oil)
This super simple face mask not only moisturizes but exfoliates at the same time! The acidity of the lemon is what gently exfoliates your skin, removing any excess or dead skin from your face while the oil hydrates and moisturizes your skin. Leave on face for 10 minutes for a citrusy and refreshing cleanse and tingle!
